A state-of-the-art battery testing lab is essential for evaluating the electrical, thermal, mechanical, and safety characteristics of lithium battery packs that we design.
Our lab has over 120 channels of high capacity, high-accuracy cell cyclers and 8 channels of battery pack cyclers, coupled with the thermal chamber, Peltier junctions, and thermal loop coolers necessary to assess the performance and reliability of battery cells, modules, and packs under real-world operating conditions and within harsh environments.
Warranty and durability, accelerated aging, characterization, charging efficiency, and even virtual fleet studies are all possible by leveraging the Acculon battery testing facilities. The Acculon battery testing lab is operated 24 x 7, 365 days a year by skilled engineers and technicians with extensive expertise in lithium battery module development and testing.
Our battery engineers apply their detailed knowledge of battery materials, battery chemistries, electrical and thermal engineering, and battery management systems and controls, to our clients’ design of experiments and ongoing testing programs – to make the validation and testing experience as seamless as possible.
Our Acculon battery module innovation laboratory provides the necessary infrastructure, resources, and expertise to drive advancements in battery module design, performance optimization, and safety.
The lab enables our Acculon researchers, engineers, and developers to experiment, innovate, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of lithium battery technology. Our Module Innovation Lab has the facilities and specialized equipment for cell sorting, laser surface cleaning, ultrasonic welding, ultrasonic wire-bonding, adhesive, thermal and structural foam applications, electronics assembly, and installation for assembling, evaluating, and prototyping new battery modules.
The lab is equipped with the necessary hardware and software components for BMS development, testing, and integration into battery modules. This includes battery management boards, communication interfaces, and programming tools. With access to advanced simulation and modeling software, virtual testing and optimization of battery pack designs, predicting performance, thermal behavior, and other key characteristics helps reduce development time, optimize designs, and improve overall efficiency.
Our facilities are the foundation of our integrated approach at Acculon, fostering seamless collaboration, swift iteration, and efficient problem-solving, from start to scale. We are committed to streamlining communication, accelerating development cycles, and eliminating logistical hurdles without sacrificing safety and performance, resulting in robust and cutting-edge solutions that power the future of sustainable energy.
Acculon has created a prototyping and assembly area for packs of all sizes and configurations to support pack design evaluation. Equipped with assembly workstations, and the tools and charging systems necessary for building and testing full battery pack prototypes. Acculon meets all local and State fire safety requirements, provides adequate ventilation, and has sufficient electrical capacity to support the pack assembly and testing needs, including segregated storage areas, and additional safety measures for storing lithium battery cells, modules, and packs.
Safety is paramount when working with lithium batteries. Acculon Implements appropriate safety measures, such as fire suppression systems, state-based monitoring, personal protective equipment (PPE), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety protocols to minimize risks associated with the handling, prototyping, storage, and testing of lithium batteries.
Acculon fosters collaboration and partnerships with academic institutions, research organizations, certification laboratories, and other industry experts. This allows for knowledge exchange, access to cutting-edge research, and potential collaborative projects. Engaging in such partnerships can accelerate innovation and expand Acculon’s lab-based capabilities.
Having direct access to these testing and prototyping facilities empowers the Acculon battery development team to thoroughly evaluate and refine lithium battery pack designs. It enables our technical teams to identify potential issues, optimize performance, ensure safety, and accelerate the development process for our clients while minimizing risks and costs.
