We are excited to announce the opening of our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Mason, Ohio! Learn more about our facility below.
Acculon Energy, a leading developer and manufacturer of advanced lithium and sodium battery systems, today announced the opening of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Mason, Ohio. The new plant features a 2-GWh annual production capacity, significantly scaling the company’s ability to provide American-made, high-performance energy storage solutions for the commercial and industrial markets.
The Mason facility represents a major milestone in Acculon’s mission to accelerate the electrification era. Outfitted with two fully automated production lines developed in partnership with PIA Automation, the site is engineered to manufacture Acculon’s proprietary CORE™ battery architecture. This flexible modular system supports multiple chemistries, including Lithium-ion (LFP) and next-generation Sodium-ion (NFPP)—allowing Acculon to meet the diverse safety and energy density requirements of its global OEM partners.
“Our investment in the Mason facility is a direct response to the surging demand for safe, reliable, and domestically produced energy storage,” said Andrew Thomas, President of Acculon Energy. “By bringing 2GWh of capacity online in Ohio, we are not only strengthening the U.S. battery supply chain but also providing our customers with a seamless transition from prototype to high-volume production under one roof.”
Key Highlights of the New Mason Facility Include:
- 2GWh Annual Capacity: Scaled to support large-scale deployment of battery modules and packs for stationary storage and motive applications.
- Multi-Chemistry Capabilities: Specialized production lines capable of handling cylindrical and prismatic cells across LFP and Sodium-ion platforms.
- Advanced Traceability: Integration of Rockwell Automation and Circulor technologies to provide full supply chain transparency and “digital battery passports,” ensuring compliance with emerging global regulations.
- AI-Driven Quality Control: Utilization of Acculon’s AI-powered Battery Management System (BMS) and IoT integration for real-time performance monitoring and safety validation.
“By bringing 2GWh of capacity online in Ohio, we are not only strengthening the U.S. battery supply chain but also providing our customers with a seamless transition from prototype to high-volume production under one roof.”
– Andrew Thomas,
Acculon Energy President
The facility’s opening follows a period of rapid growth for Acculon, including a Series A investment led by Terex Corporation and the expansion of its “Acculon Labs” testing division. The Mason plant will serve as a hub for the company’s manufacturing operations, complementing its existing R&D and Innovation Center in Columbus, Ohio.
“Mason provides the ideal environment for Acculon to scale,” added Thomas. “With access to a world-class talent pool and a robust regional manufacturing ecosystem, we are well-positioned to lead the transition to next-generation energy solutions.”
