Safety isn’t just a feature; it’s woven into the very fabric of our battery packs, and seamlessly integrated into every aspect of CORE architecture, from how we evaluate cell chemistry to our material selection and mechanical design. CORE includes cells with embedded safety features, thermal isolation of every cell, and cell-to-cell fusing. CORE is thermally and mechanically resilient at the module level, enabling speed through the development and assurance for the increasing rigor of UL, ISO, and CE certification.

CORE supports several cell types and chemistries. Cells are not only physically compatible but Acculon has validated cell models to inform the module’s management as well. This configurable capability allows customers to choose the right power source for the job.

CORE is capable of adopting five chemistries today. Acculon’s unrivaled know-how/investment in cell chemistry, cell selection, and cell modeling enables a tailored approach to a market segment, an application, and even options for individual machines. Our team of highly skilled engineers works hand-in-hand with customers to evaluate the battery cells, boasting over a decade of advanced battery testing for the automotive OEM and battery OEM industries. To date, our battery lab has completed over 50 vehicle cell selection and validation analyses. With AI-driven data analysis, valuable insight from test data is used to optimize battery performance, identify potential areas of improvement, and drive innovation in energy storage technology.

CORE fits the energy storage solution to the application instead of trying to figure out how a catalog component “could be” an acceptable option. Enabling flexibility in form and function means matching the volumetric and physical attributes (i.e. weight, environment, and isolation of the product) to the performance parameters (Ah, kWh, current, and voltage) needed to meet your application’s specifications. From design through manufacturing, CORE values the inclusion of known, validated building blocks for module construction and battery controls.

We begin by assessing your application’s requirements. During this phase, we collect data and rely on AI to process trends and create a model-based system design uniquely optimized for your application. Concurrently, we are running a range of tests in our world-renowned battery lab, relying on over a decade’s worth of valuable battery testing experience to continue to evaluate cell performance per specifications, refine our models, and generate data that informs the BMS’s software configuration, including our proprietary state of health (SOH) estimation. This makes for a smooth transition to the manufacturing phase, where no time has been lost due to our industry-unique, continual feedback loop. Acculon’s CORE System Architecture is a recognition that batteries, as in all things, have a beginning, middle, and end–and the lifecycle of our system is a priority. We design a full-battery experience that spans a generation, not simply a year or two. CORE understands that our products have a long useful life, hallmarked by changes in the state of health, environment, and even application requirements. CORE is designed for second-life usage and to eventually re-circulate as new batteries through partner recyclers. In other words, we design for life–the life of the battery and more importantly, the lives of the people who rely on the commercial and industrial applications that we power.

The modular, cloud-connected, and AI-driven BMS grants a previously unprecedented level of insight into battery operation, enabling real-time decision-making, while also guaranteeing robust protection and extended life of the CORE system. This cloud-connected feature of the BMS, however, is grounded in so much more than management and monitoring.

The connected aspect of Corable allows OEMs to unlock the data generated by these battery systems–data that provides insights into battery state of health (SOH), improved state of charge (SOC) estimation, and critical application information, such as vocation data and environmental conditions, for example. The analysis and synthesis of this data enables the optimization of product requirements by creating an understanding of usage patterns in applications. Data is transformed into information, unlocking insights into the customer’s user experience. Having a direct line to the voice of the customer (VOC) enables rapid iteration of next-generation designs. This is equivalent to OEMs having access to objective feedback networks that are created to support smart design and development to ensure success.
